What 'Grounded' means

A grounded AI-visibility result is backed by live web retrieval, with real sources you can check.

Short answer

"Grounded" means the AI response was backed by live web search — Growthract can show you the actual pages that were retrieved and cited, not just a guess from the model's training data.

What this means

When a result is grounded, the sources shown next to it are the real pages the AI's retrieval step found — you can open and check them yourself.

Why this happens

Grounding depends on the AI provider's retrieval step succeeding for that specific prompt. It isn't something Growthract controls or can force.

What to do

Grounded results are the strongest evidence available for a given check. When a result isn't grounded, see "What 'Limited — ungrounded' means."
