Structured data and schema — what Growthract checks
Structured data (schema) helps machines understand what your page is about. Here's what Growthract checks and what a finding means.
Short answer
"Structured data" (also called schema, or JSON-LD) is a machine-readable description embedded in your page's code that states what something is — your organization, a product, an article. Growthract checks whether it's present, valid, and consistent.
What this means
A schema finding tells you whether the expected structured data exists on a page, whether it's written correctly, and whether it's consistent with what's elsewhere on your site — not whether it guarantees any particular AI or search outcome.
Why this happens
Schema is commonly missing, incomplete, or contains errors because it's usually added by hand or by a plugin and can drift out of date as a page changes.
What to do
Open the specific finding in your report — it names the exact page and the exact issue (missing, invalid, or inconsistent). Fix the JSON-LD on that page to match what the finding describes, then rescan to check it again.
Still not working?
Structured data alone doesn't guarantee how any AI system or search engine will use it — see "AI readiness vs. AI visibility" for that distinction. If you've fixed the markup and the finding still won't clear, verify the corrected code is actually live on the page (not just in a draft or staging version) before rescanning.
